OUTDOORSMAN EASY-GOING HUMOROUS FUN-LOVING INQUISITIVE
Michael loves anything animals and outdoors related - particularly reptiles and amphibians (snakes, lizards, turtles, frogs, toads). Hence the nickname Steve Irwin! He graduated from Utah Valley University with a B.S. in Biology and is a wildlife recreation specialist by profession. He has been with the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources for over four-years now and has loved being able to do what he loves for a career. He enjoys everything wildlife related and being able to creatively share his knowledge and passions with others. But most of all, he enjoys getting to work with other biologists that 'nerd-out' about ichthyology, herpetology, (insert branch of zoology here) as much as he does. Michael has a calm, warming, solid energy and has a special way of making people feel comfortable and included - regardless of the situation. When he’s not working, you'll find him fishing, hunting, hiking, herping, photographing wildlife, teaching himself a new skill, or researching how to become more proficient in another skill. Michael finds happiness in the small, simple things, and finds peace when he’s connected with nature! He also enjoys writing and playing music, cooking, tying flies, wearing Chaco’s, dancing, and making people laugh. Michael has a hunger for learning and an innate desire to explore / understand the natural world around him. Michael loves deeply and is loyal to those that he cares for. He has a logical mind and a kind heart – unafraid to try and fail rather than to never try at all. Michael has a way of making friends with everyone and has a gift for being able to brighten someone’s day. Michael is loving and kind.
“If you truly love nature, you will find beauty everywhere.” - Vincent van Gogh
